Farowen Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Farowen is a fantasy dungeon adventure developed by Cinder Code LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We respect your privacy and aim to collect only information needed to improve gameplay and maintain app reliability.

Farowen has no advertisements or required accounts. Game progress is primarily stored locally on your device. Limited pseudonymous analytics and crash diagnostics may be collected through Google Firebase.

This policy applies to Farowen on iOS and Android and its associated privacy-policy website.

2. Information We Collect

Gameplay analytics: When enabled, we may collect pseudonymous events such as dungeon progression, encounters, boss attempts, spells, potions, ingredients, crafting, gear, enchantments, quests, checkpoints, tutorial completion, and feature usage. These help us understand gameplay balance and improve the experience.

Technical diagnostics: Firebase services may collect app version, device model, operating system, language or region, approximate location inferred from technical signals, app sessions, installation identifiers, crash logs, stack traces, and performance information.

Installation identifiers are pseudonymous, not necessarily fully anonymous. Firebase may also collect certain events and technical properties automatically.

Farowen does not ask you to provide your name, email, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment details to play. Our custom analytics do not intentionally include personal identifiers, purchase receipts, transaction IDs, or user-entered text.

If you contact support, we receive the information you voluntarily provide, including your email address, to respond to your request.

3. Analytics and Crash Reporting

Farowen uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics in supported release and profile builds to evaluate gameplay balance, understand feature usage, identify errors, and improve reliability.

Firebase may process pseudonymous usage events, installation-level identifiers, device information, crash diagnostics, and related technical data. Debug builds use sanitized local logging instead of sending custom Dart events or crash reports to Firebase.

Advertising-ID collection and personalized advertising signals are disabled. The iOS integration excludes IDFA support and disables Analytics collection of the Identifier for Vendor. Farowen does not set Firebase user IDs or custom persistent analytics identifiers.

Google processes information under its applicable service agreements and privacy practices. Learn more in Firebase Privacy and Security and Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Purchases and Game Progress

Floors 1–16 are free. Optional Full Access permanently unlocks progression beyond Floor 16.

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Cinder Code does not directly collect or store payment-card information. We may record limited purchase and restore outcomes for product reliability without intentionally including receipts, transaction identifiers, or payment information in custom analytics.

Campaign progress, inventory, spells, gear, quests, settings, and other save information are primarily stored locally on your device. Farowen does not provide a cloud-save service for campaign progress.

Deleting the app, clearing its data, or losing access to your device may permanently remove local progress. Device-level backups, if available, are controlled by your operating system.

5. Advertising and Data Sharing

Farowen contains no advertisements. We do not sell personal information, create advertising profiles, or share player data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Limited analytics and diagnostic information may be processed by Google through Firebase. Apple and Google Play separately process information related to app distribution and purchases under their own privacy policies.

We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and app security.

Our website hosting and email providers may process ordinary technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details, request timestamps, and support correspondence, as needed to operate those services.

6. Data Retention and Security

Local game saves remain on your device until removed through game or device actions, subject to any device backups.

Firebase analytics and crash information may be retained according to the applicable Firebase service settings and the periods needed for troubleshooting, game improvements, and legal compliance. Support correspondence may be retained as reasonably necessary to resolve requests and meet legal obligations.

We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect information. However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have rights to withdraw consent where applicable, appeal certain decisions, or contact a privacy regulator.

We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising and will not discriminate against individuals exercising applicable privacy rights.

To submit a request, email [email protected] with the subject "Farowen Privacy Request." We may require reasonable verification and will respond within applicable legal time frames.

Because Farowen does not require an account, we may be unable to associate an email request with specific pseudonymous Firebase records. We will explain any technical or legal limitations.

Deleting Farowen stops future app-based collection from that installation, but previously collected information may remain subject to retention requirements.

8. Children and International Processing

Farowen does not require accounts or ask players to submit personal contact information. We do not knowingly solicit children's personal information without authorization required by applicable law. Parents or guardians with concerns may contact us.

Families can manage purchases and device permissions through their app store and device settings.

Cinder Code LLC is based in the United States. Google and other service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where applicable, international processing and transfers are subject to relevant legal requirements and provider safeguards.

Where required by law, our processing relies on applicable legal grounds, which may include legitimate interests in app reliability and improvement, legal obligations, or consent when required.

9. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy when Farowen, its features, service providers, or applicable legal requirements change.

We will update the date shown above when changes are made and provide additional notice when required by law.
